MEMORANDUM

OCTOBER 15, 2001

Re: Scheduled Blynman Bridge Closure

The following is a quote from the U.S. Coast Guard Monthly Edition of the Local Notice to Mariners No. 40/01;

"The SR 127 highway bridge, mile 0.0, across the Annisquam River/Blynman Canal will be closed for replacement of the submarine power supply cable. During these repairs the bridge will remain in the closed position eight hours a day during daylight hours at slack tide from November 5, 2001 through November 9, 2001. Additionally, from 7 am on November 12, 2001 through midnight on November 16, 2001, the bridge will be closed at all times."

There will be a 30' x 90' barge in the canal during the operations scheduled 11/5/01 through 11 /9/01.

The U.S. Coast Guard, Gloucester Police Department and Gloucester Harbormaster will have boats stationed in the Annisquam River during the schedule closings in the event of an emergency.
